We made a little detour into Washington so Johnny & Brandi could proudly state that they have visited. There's not much in Vancouver since it's just a big suburb of Portland, but we stumbled upon Fort Vancouver which was quite pretty.
One BIG Anchor
The anchor was recovered from the Columbia and although they don't know who's it was, they do know it's from the 1800's from a ship over 1,000 tons. They also know that the chain clevis was open, meaning someone got it big trouble in about the year 1850 for correctly tipping the anchor into the river, but not actually attaching it to the boat. I imagine a "man overboard" situation happened shortly thereafter...
Sophie's trying to escape
Dog's are supposed to like these, right?
Sophie definitely liked the park!
Yes - I like to party.
And we went back to Washington Park (in Portland) and walked around the Arboretum a bit.
Sarah is a new transplant to the Pacific Northwest where she is adjusting from the heat in Arizona. She would be completely useless if not for her wonderful husband, Bobby, and her corgis, Sophie The Puffin and Edamame.
